Happy Monday lovelies! So if you read my Magaliesburg Wine post and follow me on social media you’d know I went on a little adventure last week. Magaliesburg Wines were kind enough to host a bunch of us for an adventure day. The invitation kinda gave away what we will be up, ziplining! Tuesday morning bright and early I was ready for the day.
Magaliesburg Canopy Tours
Located in the heart of the majestic Magaliesberg mountains, the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour® is a unique eco-adventure. It takes you on a journey through the ecology and geology of the second oldest mountain range in the world. (Estimated to be 2,400 million years ) 11 platforms have been constructed high against the rock faces of the spectacular Ysterhout Kloof – a natural wonderland carved out of the mountainside over millions of years – joined by 10 cabled slides up to 140 metres long and in places 30 metres above the canopy floor.
#AdventureAwaits
I was a little bit nervous about this adventure because I have a fear of heights. Secondly I’m on the larger side so any type of adventure is usually an extra challenge. Upon arrival we had a short brief where after we geared up and took off. The start of the tour is a short ride away from the main building. I felt super safe accompanied by 2 guides (and a camera man)
The first couple of slides were short and slow. The next two were extremely long but fun. Some of the slides we had to break ourselves and just as I really got comfortable and started having fun the tour was over! I have to say that the hike back up was the most difficult part of the entire day. Facing my fear of heights was peanuts compares to an uphill hike at midday in 37 degree heat.

Winding Down
After we made it back to the main building we got to wind down with some refreshments and a ligh lunch. Best of all we got to sample some of the delicious Magaliesburg wines. We also learned a bit about the wine making process and this just got my psyched up to visit the Overhex winery!
Will I do it again?!
Absolutely! Despite the hike I had such a great time, pushing my boundaries and comfort zone, I would love to one day have all the canopy tours around South Africa done and dusted!
Thank you so much Magaliesburg Wines for making me part of this fun filled day. Can’t wait for the next adventure.
