I’m super late for this train ride but rather late than never right?! I’ve had this Colourpop Golden State of Mind palette for half of the year and I haven’t gotten to my review until now. It’s not because I’ve not been using the palette tho. As a matter of fact it’s my most reach for palette so far this year. If I’m going to be honest with you it’s getting those gorgeous product shots that’s been standing in my way.
Golden State of Mind Eyeshadow Palette
Colourpop Says:
This is a Highly pigmented pressed powder shadow that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly. Formulated to be used wet. Finish Ultra-Glitter Shade Pinks, Silvers, Yellows/Oranges, Neutrals.
I say:
This pressed powder shadow palette that’s packed full of gorgeous cool toned ultra-glitter shimmers. Before I started using this palette I watched and read many reviews on it and most of the feedback I saw was negative. I totally have to disagree! I really love all of the shades and the formula is great. As you would expect from colourpop. I prefer using a brush when applying eyeshadow as I can be more precise and this formula delivers when using a your brush wet. Applying it dry has shadow fallout and it takes longer to build that perfect colour, but I have to admit that I’ve been using it dry and besides the shadow fallout I don’t have any complaints.
I’ve gone ahead and swatched them wet for you, the colours look exactly the same, the payoff is better using a wet brush. The other plus point about this palette is that if you pair it with a black base you have twice as many shades! I’ve also found that applying the shades while dry is easier over a black shadow. I used it with the Urban Decay shade called “blackout”.

Why I love this palette
So at 30 + “people” say that shimmer eyeshadows are “too young” for you and you need to look more at using matte shadows. I don’t know who these people are tho because I love shimmers. When I use this palette I get so many compliments and I feel the shades compliment my eyecolour. And I mean you can’t beat 15 gorgeous shimmers!
Have you tried this palette and what are your thoughts on it?
