{Friday’s 3 Fav’s} Local Brands

featured 1

Happy Friday everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying their extra weekend day today. Today I would like to share my 3 favourite local brands with you. My choices aren’t just based on the quality of the products but also on customer care, social media accounts. It’s about the entire presence of the brand!

Rain – Created for Living

If you aren’t aware of this brand yet, let me quickly give you the breakdown. Rain creates handmade bath & body products and hand crafted home ware using natural ingredients with African origins. Rain products are responsibly handmade with love and care for us as customers, craftspeople and the environment. They are cruelty free and is part of fairtrade.

Rain has proudly expanded their shops beyond SA’s boarders and is available in the US. I’ve even seen pictures where Madonna has some rain goodies in her tub.

Products & Pricing

Rain has a wide variety of products that even includes a baby range. This is always my number one choice when going to a baby shower. Their products all smell great, if I had to describe them with one word it would be sophisticated. From bath bombs to bubble baths, liquid soaps, solid soaps and skincare (the only thing still missing is face masks!) There is something for everyone from rain.  You can view their entire range on their website. I have reviews on their products over here, here and a review on one of their spas over here.

Their products are also very reasonably priced for the quality and also if I’m not careful I can easily overspend in my local rain store!

Hey Gorgeous

Now there is a brand that I first got to know when I started my blog about 4 years ago. I have to let my head down in shame for not ordering here more recently but my birthday is coming up in a couple of weeks. I’ve spoiled myself from Hey Gorgeous for past birthdays so why not this year. If you aren’t familiar with Hey Gorgeous here’s the breakdown. Hey Gorgeous keeps our skins smooth, soft, supple and youthful and it’s never been easier with their fabulous range of skincare products. All made from the finest ingredients, 100% pure, natural and chemical free. Hey Gorgeous will leave your skin glowing, radiant and deliciously touchable.

Hey Gorgeous also started expanding and I visited their standalone store in Willowbridge a while back. They also started offering spa treatments! Hooray!

Products & Pricing

The products from Hey Gorgeous can be described as fun and playful. They even make shampoo for dogs, a brand that’s naturally taking care of my pets fur? Yes please! Their body mousses are fluffy and just melts into skin like butter on hot toast. Most of their products smell great, very floral but not too overpowering. Then you get their fun scents like marshmallow and chocolate mousse. Who doesn’t want chocolate on their face? You can read reviews for Hey Gorgeous over herehere and here. View all their gorgeous products on their website.

I find their pricing a little bit more on the expensive side but considering everything is freshly handmade and of great quality it’s totally worth it.

Crafted Cosmetics

Crafted Cosmetics is a relatively new local brand but I really love what they are doing. Here is a breakdown:  Crafted Cosmetics is a natural beauty product supplier. They create products that are good for your skin and soul. Handmade soap, natural cosmetics, face masques, hand creams, perfumes, room sprays, bath products, bath salts is just a few of the goodies they produce.

If I have to describe Crafted Cosmetics in one word I’d call them earthy. I love that they are using natural spices and herbs that are known for the medicinal purposes in their products like turmeric. You can visit their facebook page for more information as well as on how to order.
