I’m pretty sure most of us, at some point wanted to try a fashion hair colour. If you are anything like me and a bit of a hair commitment phobe then this post if for you! Nebeau was kind enough to send me some Tonology Pure Pigments products to try out and that is how the experimenting began.
About Tonology Pure Pigments
Tonology Pure Pigments is a semi permanent hair color. It is ready to use without any mixing to give you bold, luminous colour. The cosmetic components in Tonology help to improve the condition of your hair whilst the colouring provides intense colour and optimum coverage. Tonology Pure Pigments are ammonia free and no developer / peroxide is necessary. It has a velvety texture with fresh aroma for easy application and can be used on all hair types but best results on pre-lightened hair.
I received the shade Pinkkissme together with the pastel mix. I’m more of a pastel lover so I was extremely grateful for the mix
Tonology Pure Pigments is available in a total of 12 shades. The pastel mix turns the 12 shades into endless options! Other shades in the range include:
How to apply
After shampooing, towel dry hair and and apply Tonology Pure Pigments evenly all over hair while wearing gloves. Leave for 15-30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. You can mix the product with some conditioner to ease application. I once again tested without gloves and there was a little bit of staining but not a lot.
The pastel mix can be added 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1 for different colour intensities.
Results and Longevity
Without the pastel mix the pink is extremely vibrant. The colour took really easy on my hair but on the first run I didn’t apply it evenly. My bad! For the next application I mixed it with the Ice Cream Kromask. One part pink and three parts pastel mix. I then applied it per section of hair starting at the bottom. Don’t you just LOVE how it came out? I think for the next application I will be trying 2:1
The colour lasts a total of seven washed in my hair. I have very fine hair, but tons of it!

Thank you for your review. Just wondering though… Would I have to pre lighten my hair again before using this. I had a Renew fail and then used gentian violet with conditioner as a quick fix. The purple is running out and my hair is lighter again but I’m not too keen on stripping it again.
I saw your fail on instagram, I think you should be able to use this on your hair how it is now. Don’t strip it again you don’t want to damage your hair beyond repair. Send Nolene an inbox on their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/InebryaGauteng/ and just ask her if you can show her your hair and if the tonology would work on how light is it
Oh wow it actually looks amazing! I love how it turned out.
