Hi my lovelies! I’m really excited about today’s post featuring one of my favourite brands, NYX. A couple of weeks ago hubby took me on an outing to Amsterdam and we took a stroll down Kalverstraat. This is the major shopping street in Amsterdam and coincidentally the most expensive street in the Dutch version of monopoly. There was so much retail therapy to be had but I carefully chose the NYX store as my shopping spot and was in awe and completely overwhelmed at all the products.
I had a seriously tough time to choose something and ended up at the cashier with only a baked blush in hand. That is when I spotted the travel kits, hubby noticed the longing look on my face and popped one of the kits in my hands. This travel kit has travel sized products of really great NYX products and I’m totally smitten.

NYX Cheek Contour Duo in Wine and Dine

I Say: I was really excited to try this one. Believe it or not but I before getting this I have never tried to contour or purchased any contour products. I find contouring really intimidating! I watched some youtube videos and tried this kit out, and guess what, it’s not as hard as I thought. The contour formula blends amazingly well and can easily contour my cheeks without it looking like an amateur did it. The blush also adds a nice pop of rosy colour on my cheeks.
NYX Makeup Setting Spray – Matte

I Say: This lightweight spray keeps my makeup in place for as long as I need it and keeps my shiny parts matte. After applying all my makeup, except for my mascara (that’s hard enough to remove as it is) I sprits my face with this and it keeps me shine-free even after walking around for hours.

I Say: This pore filler goes on like butter and smoothes out my skin really well. It leaves my skin feeling soft with no drying effect or oiliness. Foundation applies really well over it and I’m really happy with the finish.
NYX HD Finishing Powder in Translucent

I Say: I find this lovely lightweight powder perfect for setting my makeup and it keeps my skin matte where I need
NYX All Over Balm

I say: I am in love with the glow from this highlighter, it has a dewy finish but once it dries it doesn’t go anywhere, no smudging and highlight ending up on parts of my face where I don’t want to glow.
NYX Buttergloss in Crème Brulee

I say: I really love the soft subtle pinky glow I get from this baked blush, it’s really romantic. The pigmentation isn’t very intense, I have not yet tried this wet but will do and update!

One store at the Mall of Africa and one store in Gateway, so now us South African girls don’t need to travel the globe for our NYX fix.
