I Review: Almay Butter Kiss Lipstick

Almay 5 1

If you are a regular reader of my blog you would know I am just crazy about Almay products and I don’t know how it happened but I’ve never purchased any of their lipsticks before, scandalous I know, but that was until they launched the Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipsticks and I just had to have one.

I went in-store to test some of the shades (and snapped a selfie while doing so that ended up getting me a Butter Kiss hamper yay) and went home with the shade in Berry for Light/Medium skin tones. I received this same shade in the hamper I won but for Light skin tones. The Almay Smart Shade Lipsticks promise to be super hydrating and the lipstick shades are tailored to suit each skin tone.

Even tho I am actually a Light/Medium tone I really enjoy the Light Berry shade as the colour is a little bit more intense. While the medium/light shade gives off a more pink berry shade, which I will love during summer, the light shade  is a more purple berry making it a perfect shade for the colder months. Both shades glide on like butter and my lips feel super moisturized just as promised and the staying power is really good. I love that all the Almay products are hypoallergenic so even if you have really sensitive lips you are able to use these buttery lipsticks.

If you suffer from excessive dry lips during winter like I do these are the perfect lipstick to use this season.

The Butter Kiss Lipsticks are available in 12 different shades, four colours matching three skin tone hues, Light, Light/Medium and Medium, helping you choose your perfect shade. These lipsticks retail for R110 at Foschini and R99 at Dischem and are a permanent addition to the Almay range.

  1. I have an ooooold Almay lip butter (a red shade) that I should probably throw out, but I can’t find something similar anywhere, and it really is super hydrating! Will go check these out 🙂

    1. Lipsticks you can keep for 3 years before you need to really throw it out 🙂 But these are really nice, they are not highly pigmented tho, if you are looking for a bright red lip

  2. These look really pretty!!
