Hi ladies! Today I’m sharing with you my current everyday makeup routine and my go to products I use to create it.
Everyday Makeup Routine
I start with a clean and moisturized face. If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that I don’t like foundation and I only own one but I love BB creams, I own a ton, my go to BB cream is the Garnier BB Cream in light for oily skin, I have a combination skin and this one helps keep the oil under control over my t-zone. This BB cream gives light/medium coverage, it smooths out my skin but my freckles will still be slighlty visible and I get a natural looking base to work with.
Next I will use my L.A Girl Pro Concealer to brighten my under-eye area, I use it as well to cover the redness between my eyes and that odd monster or two that comes to visit my face every so often.
When I’m happy with the base I will set it with my Almay Smart Shade Pressed Powder, this powder just helps to keep everything in place and I don’t end up having my face sliding off after two hours.
Next I move onto my brows, I don’t really like filling them in so I tint them myself every couple of weeks and try to keep them in shape, I neatly brush my brows with a spooly and set them with brow gel to keep them in place. I’m currently using the Rimmel Brow Gel.
Until recently blush has been a scary venture for me, I was so scared I will end up looking like a cartoon with little round cheeks, but I think I’ve mastered the art. I enjoy my Bourjois Little Pot Blush in for a warmer tone and the blushes from my Elizabeth Arden compacts for a pink cheek.
I’ve recently discovered the power of eyeshadow primer and this is the next step in my routine, I apply a thin layer on my eyelids to keep my eyeshadow in place, I am bananas over the Catrice Prime and Fine eyeshadow base and I will definitely be re-purchasing this one.
I’m currently loving a couple of eyeshadow palettes but my ultimate go to favourites are the intense i eyeshadow kits by Almay and my Elizabeth Arden Work & Play compacts. I will create my eyeshadow look based on my mood, most of my looks I create using three shades, one light to cover my entire lid up to my brow bone, next I will take a medium shade one third from the inner corner of my eye and sweep it to the outer corner only on my lid area and into the crease. Lastly I take the darkest shade and apply it in the outer corner of my eye in the shape of a V and I blend it really well into the crease and with the medium shade. I apply the same three shades to my lower lid below my water line, lightest from the inner corners, one third in, middle shade on the middle thirds and the darkest shade on the outer third.
Once I’m happy that both my eyes are even I will move to an eyeliner, I love using a brown or an off black shade, I line the outer two thirds of my eyes to create more of an open eye. Last but not least I apply my mascara, this depends as well on my mood but the Rimmel Wonder’full, Almay One Coat and Bourjois 1 Second mascaras are favourites.
I complete my look by applying a lip colour that matches my mood and my eyeshadow, I tend to gravitate more towards a lip gloss during the day, but I sometimes just go fierce with a bright red lip.
The final look!
