Some time ago I was contacted by the lovely ladies over at Crafted Cosmetics and I jumped at the opportunity to try some of their natural skincare products. I love anything that is natural, handmade and kind to nature. Crafted cosmetics produce handmade soaps, natural cosmetics, face masques, hand creams, perfumes, room sprays, bath products and bath salts and these are all made from natural ingredients.
I was lucky enough to receive the following products:
Turmeric Triple Nourisher
I couldn’t wait to dig into this nourisher, I’ve heard so many great things about using Turmeric as part of your skincare regime and I wasn’t disappointed. Turmeric is an anti ageing agent, anti bacterial, anti oxidant, controls oily skin, lightens stretch marks, cures acne and heals cracked heals. Together with the essential oils and nourishing agents this nourisher is packed full of skincare goodness, I couldn’t wait to dig in, hence the finger mark in the tub on the picture.
My only concern about trying this product was it turning my skin yellow, which it didn’t! Within days my skin was so much softer and felt nourished, the cracks in my heals started healing up. On application the nourisher does feel a bit sticky and takes a while to absorb into the skin but it’s totally worth it in the end. This nourisher can be used to treat eczema as well and works as a sunscreen.
Sacred Frankincense Natural Body Butter
This lovely scented Body Butter is just what it says, buttery, it’s creamy and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. I find this Body Butter very luxurious and even more so because the packaging is a glass jar. Frankincense is good for inflammation and pain relief so this body butter is perfect for massaging sore and tired muscles. It is great as well for burns, rashes, cuts, scrapes, and sores and it is fabulous for mature, prematurely aging, and environmentally challenged skin.
Vanilla and Secret Frankincense Handcrafted Soap
I really love the rustic look of these hand crafted soaps making them a great addition to my bathroom. So far I’ve only opened the Sacred Frankincense Handmade Soap – working on that whole finishing something before opening another thing. Because this is soap is made from only natural ingredients it doesn’t lather up as much as your everyday soap, but this doesn’t mean that the soap isn’t doing its job!
I found it thoroughly cleanses my skin and leaves my skin soft and nourished. I do not get that tight feeling after washing with this which means it’s not overly cleansing.
Shea Lip Balm
I haven’t really tested this lip balm, I find natural lip balms very hard and hard to apply and it being winter when I received it I wasn’t really able to manage. I think this would be a very good summer lip balm you can keep with you when it’s warmer so that the wax can soften up and be more pliable. Being in the Netherlands at the moment and the temperatures floating around above and under 0 degrees I thought it best to come try the lip balm when I get back to SA! I can however add that this lip balm is made from very good ingredients so it promises to be good for the lips.
Crafted cosmetics are made in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga and they can be contacted via their facebook page
