I think my favourite food is hamburgers, yes I know it’s not the most healthy, but yum, there is nothing like a delicious hamburger. My hamburger recipe is probably my proudest food invention till date and today I’m sharing it with you. Homemade Hamburgers.

Homemade Hamburgers
Ingredients:
- 1 Egg
- a Hand full of Oats OR 1 Slice of White Bread
- 1 tbsp of Sugar
- a Blob of Tomato Sauce (Ketchup as it’s known in some countries)
- a Splash of Soy Sauce
- 2 tsp of Thyme (Sjjjjt this is my secret ingredient)
- A couple of grinds of freshly grounded mixed herbs
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 500 g Ground Beef
Method:
Get your blender, mixer, whatever you prefer to use. Add everything except the ground beef and mix/blend well, add this mixture into your ground beef and squish it in with your fingers, mixing everything well, you can do this in your blender as well if it is able to handle it. I usually make 6 – 8 hamburger patties per 500 grams of ground beef, it all depends in how many people you need to feed and how thick you would like your patties. Divide your mixture up into 6 – 8 pieces. I have a really cool gadget from tupperwear, a hamburger press which I will feature as a weekly gadget soon. I use this to form my patties, if you don’t have one you can roll each piece into a ball and then evenly flatten it with a plate.
Fry your patties in a bit of oil in a pan until cooked, when they stop being squishy in the middle they are usually cooked through.
Flop each patty on a prepared hamburger bun. Here you can put on whatever you and your family likes. Cheese, Pickles, Pineapple, Bacon, Any Sauces your heart desires. In the picture below we had a family dinner and made gourmet burgers, we sometimes serve lays with our burgers.
