Foodie Friday | Marmite Breakfast Cake Recipe
Happy Friday and Happy Easter weekend everyone! I hope that everyone is busy enjoying a relaxing weekend, whether you are spending it with family or friends or with just a special someone. Marmite Breakfast Cake.
I always cook a big brunch on Easter Sunday so today I’m sharing a breakfast cake recipe with you that we love eating on special brunchy days like New Years day and Easter, Marmite Breakfast Cake, yes I know it sounds so weird but it’s really so good!
Marmite Breakfast Cake

Ingredients:
Cake
- 125g Soft butter or margarine
- 375 ml Sugar
- 3 Extra large eggs at room temperature
- 5 ml Vanilla essence
- 625 ml Cake flour
- 20 ml Baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 250 ml Milk
Top Layer
- Butter or margarine
- Marmite
- 250 ml Grated cheddar cheese
Method:
Cream the butter and sugar until light yellow in colour, add the vanilla. Beat the eggs in one by one. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together. Mix the flour and milk bit by bit with the egg mixture. Bake in an oven safe dish for 35 – 40 min at 180 C.
When the cake is cooked through remove from oven and spread some butter or margarine over, spread a little bit of marmite over and sprinkle the cheese over, place back in the oven until the cheese melted, cut into blocks.
We usually serve this cake with other yummy breakfasty things like eggs, bacon and sausages, croissants or even muffins and yogurt with fruit. Don’t forget the coffee, fruit juices and what about some bubbly ?
Leave me a comment and tell me what’s your favourite breakfast food.

Hi Lizna, your family was spoiled for sure yesterday! I have never had marmite (too scared to try :-0 ) before. But if i get the chance to try your cake, I would. It looks delicious.
Hope you have a nice week ahead. xxx
